How did rap music get its name?
“lady fuschia” mentioned Real American Poetry, which I remember hearing somewhere along the way too. So I searched the Answers Acronym section: http://www.answers.com/topic/rap-9 The listing has all kinds of possibilities, including: Really Awful Poetry, Retarded African Poetry, Rhythm And Poetry, Retards Attempting Poetry, Really Annoying People . . . Okay, maybe it doesn’t answer the question as to how rap music got it’s name. It’s interesting, that’s all. Just don’t penalize me for piggy-backing on someone’s else’s answer – I acknowledged “lady fuschia” and gave her a favorable rating . . .
