How did Queen Victoria impact western society (ex. the USA)?
LOTS OF WAYS, too many to list here but are a few… She was the person who set societies rules for a period from 1832-1900 (known as the Victorian Era) where the clothing, the language, the rituals of society were all dictated by the approval of the Queen, even in the US. Despite winning independance not too long before, the rich and elite of society across the globe but especially in the US relied on England for fashion trends, architectural trends (many old houses are built in the Victorian style) and social rules such as how an unmarried woman/man are to behave, how married couples should act, how dating was done (known as courtship) and even how sex should be viewed (very negatively). It was basically the way of life in the US for a long period.
