How did Queen Amidala get elected at the age of 14?
On Naboo they elect their rulers democratically. At first when Amidala announced her intentions to run, people scoffed. They ignored the fact that from an early age, Queen Amidala had been trained by the best teachers on Naboo. They ignored the fact that she had served as ruler of Theed for two years, and could best King Veruna in any debate. She traveled the cities and towns of Naboo, speaking and listening. The people gave her their trust, and began to brag about her age instead of mocking her. King Veruna was ousted and she was elected by an overwhelming majority.
