How did putting baubles on a tree relate to Christmas, and where does it originate from?

The glass baubles were not on the first Christmas trees. They were decorated with fruit but fruit, obviously, doesn’t last very long. The reason for the fruit is that the tree originally was put up on Christmas Eve which was counted the feast of Adam and Eve. The tree represented the tree, with its fruit, in the Garden of Eden and was used as a prop in a Medieval play. The plays were suppressed or died out following the protestant reformation but people kept up the tree tradition. Baubles were invented, originally in the shapes of fruit and nuts, in the mid 19th century in Germany. There is absolutely no evidence of any link to pre-Christian paganism. None whatsoever.
