How did post World War 1 Europe set the stage for World War 2?
It left Germany in a state of economic collapse. The reparations demanded by the Allies in the Versailles Treaty exacerbated the situation, and the German people were unable to pull themselves out. They blamed the rest of Europe for not helping them afterwards, and Hitler and the Nazis used this resentment to rally their people into a nationalistic frenzy. The result was Hitler being named Chancellor in 1933. As the Nazis got things done in the government, the people gave them more and more power and control.
