How did Nowleys owner and the University of Sydney cross paths?
Ted Holtsbaum attended a field day at the University’s Livingston Farm at Moree several years ago and was impressed by farming systems being researched and developed there: in particular, the cutting edge ‘precision agriculture’ techniques which monitor, measure and manage infield variability of crops. He has used the ‘minimal till’ and ‘no till’ techniques developed at Livingston – these have proved crucial to Nowley’s survival during the present drought.
