How did Nazism control German society?
The Nazi Party was the only political party permitted and it permeated all institutions in German life, schools, universities, the judiciary, public service etc etc. and career preferment was dependant on party membership or recommendation. There were also party organisations for veterans, women and the notorious Hitler Youth which children were pressured to join. In addition, the Nazis controlled all media – the press, radio and film, which was used to disseminate a constant stream of party propaganda, controlled by a Ministry of Propaganda, one of the most important in Hitler’s government.
