How did Nazi Germany answer the three economic questions?
1. Hitler’s long-term aim was always war but in the 30s Germany was actually very poor. His economic situation was always precarious. He produced what weapons he could but most were made in small numbers to get them right, train his armies, and lay the industrial foundations for later war. He was happy to get his raw materials from places like Russia and sell weapons overseas (Russia, China, Switzerland, South America). People didn’t get a great deal but they were not starving and were encouraged to share in the glory of the national achievement, through the Olympic Games, racing cars and military displays. German manufactured and metal good were excellent quality as they always had been, and there was some demand. Their chemical industry was also strong.
