How did Moses manage to cross the Red Sea in 110km/hr winds?
Moses waited, arm outstretched with rod in it, till all the Israelites had crossed through the parted waves. It took quite a while – all the hours of darkness. Meantime, the pillar of cloud blocked the pursuing Egyptians view, stalling them, whilst the pillar of flame was on the far side, giving the Israelites light. No mention of any of that in the news commentaries, notice? The Bible speaks of a strong east wind blowing all night. Once the million or so people were through, Moses came last, then the Egyptians were able to follow into the opened channel. But their chariot wheels got bogged down, and then God commanded Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, so that the waters would crash back in on the army. And that’s what happened. I saw the film “The Ten Commandments” starring Charlton Heston as Moses. I was just a little girl then, but the effects were impressive.
