A triple shooting in Athens leaves three dead, and some Augustans mourning the loss of Marie Bruce. A life cut short at age 47, Marie Bruce was many things to many people: an actress, a mother, a daughter, and a great friend. “Marie would just love life. Everything was enhanced by marie. She was drama from the get-go,” said Sheryl Wendzik, who went to Westside High with Bruce That’s where Bruce’s acting career began, and continued through college and never let up when life got busier. “She directed plays and acted and no one could figure out how she did it with being a lawyer and having two small children and everything else going on,” said Wayne Kitchens, a friend of Bruce’s. University of Georgia teacher George Zinkhan whose photos were broke first online by LALATE Saturday is still on the loose. Police are warning the public of a nationwide search for Zinkhan whom they claim sed two different guns to shoot three people, while more remain injured. Police are telling the public: “If you’ve got somebody who’s already shot three people with two handguns, I call that a high level of threat to anyone he comes into contact with”. Zinkhan was last seen in a 2005 Jeep Liberty with a Georgia tag AIX 1376. George Zinkhan is sought by police as a suspect in a three person deadly off campus shooting Saturday at the University of Georgia. Zinkhan is a teacher of marketing and distribution in the Terry College of Business at UGA. Police and witnesses say University of Georgia professor George M. Zinkhan III opened fire outside a community theater. Zinkhan, a professor in the Department of Marketing and Distribution, fled the scene. The three confirmed dead include 47-year-old Marie Bruce, Ben Teague, 63, and Tom Tanner, 40, Clarke County coroner Sonny Wilson said Saturday night. All three were shot multiple times, Wilson said. Authorities issued a nationwide alert for Zinkhan and his 2005 red Jeep Liberty with Georgia license plate AIX1376. Zinkhan is a 57-year-old white male, last seen wearing a polo shirt and blue shorts, according to the UGA Web site.
