How did Marianas Trench form?
The band came into its current form over some time. Josh and Matt went to High school together. Ian had placed an ad in the Vancouver Entertainment newspaper The Georgia Straight that Josh had seen. When Josh phoned the number Ian had a message that said “I am lost please can you help me”, but in chinese and then with the english translation. Right there Josh knew Ian was the guy. It was shortly after that the band needed somebody to play bass. Ian and I had played in a different band beforehand. They thought I might be a good fit so I tried out. You’re latest album, Fix Me came out in 2006 and got great responses. Are you working on a new album yet? If so, what do you think are the biggest differences between the two albums? We are working on a new album. We are about half done. We’re all really excited about this one. I think the songwriting is more refined.
