What utter knonsense! Come on people, get real. If his leg had become infectious to the point of risking his life they would have amputated it. Not only that, the Egyptians had very advanced medical knowlede for their time and were quite capable of warding of most infections. Most believe that his Advisor/Uncle Aye was the murderer but there are several other theories that float around as well. One thing that is certain is that he was killed by some sort of head trauma. Forensic scientists x-rayed the skull over 20 years ago and found that there was an injury that would indicated a blow to the head. The injury was in a place that is unlikely to be injured by accident. Along with egyptologists they collaborated together and believe he was killed by a blow to the back of his head while sleeping.
