How did King Shaka Zulu build up the Zulu tribe?
Shaka Zulu was born in 1787. His father Senzangakhona kaJanai, who was the chief of the Zulu people had established his kingdom in the Mkhumbane valley. The White Mflolozi River located the village. He was a strong chief who had a strong grip on his people. But times were difficult and there was a cultural crisis in the area. The economy was based on the European trade. A large famine struck the country. Because of this military violence broke out. Two sections of the Zululand broke the peace. One part at the White Mfolozi. The other part at lower Mhlstuze was the other section. They had brought weaker kingdoms under them. This brought more trust to the Zulu chief and the Zulu nation was feared more.
