How did Jesus die for our sins?
It only makes sense if you take the whole of the Bible as God’s revelation of himself to us, and pick up the first clue in Genesis 3:15 and run with it till the end of Revelation. By then you will have the whole picture. You cannot possibly get an answer to such a huge question in a few sentences. You will have to be prepared to do a lot of digging and praying. The reason why Jesus did not say a lot about why he had come to die is that his saving work had to be accomplished first. That is why Jesus told his followers that after he returned to heaven, he would send them the Holy Spirit to remind them of what he had said and to understand the scriptures. Do you see how that means that we today must have the same enlightenment of the Holy Spirit to understand ourselves? God reveals those things, but not to everybody. (John 16:12-13).
