How did it feel to be chosen as the Doctor’s new assistant?
Being chosen as the new assistant was probably the most insane and exciting thing that has happened to me! I have worked on Doctor Who before as a small part in an episode called the Fire’s of Pompeii. I went out to Rome to film it and I just remember watching David and Catherine Tate filming, but never in a million years did I think I’d be invited back to be a companion, so it was incredible! How did the role come about? Were you approached or was it in the pipeline? I just auditioned! My agent told me they were looking for a girl to play the part and I just auditioned like everyone else. I did two auditions, one with the casting director and then the second one I read with Matt. Had they given you a clue about what kind of girl they were looking for this time? No, in fact they were very secretive about it! I didn’t even know the characters name until the recall!
