How did Imperialism change South Africa?

0

Like most African countries…Europeans with a lust for money and power come to “civilize” SA. They brought with them their skills, religion and their on way of life. Whether the African natives saw a need for all of the White man’s things. we can never know. It was a two-edged sword. They built railway lines and brought new inventions etc but also severely boarded across the lines of human dignity – slavery, exploited natives of the land to further their own interests. It changed SA drastically. In terms of human migration, settlers, discoveries, diamond rush, development over time – which ALL in South Africa contributed too. The Africans and Europeans (mostly British and Dutch). Later on, labourers were brought in from India. So yes, one could say that Imperialism played a significant role in South Africa…for the good and the bad.
