How did Harvey Milk die, he died when he was only 48?
On November 27, 1978, Mayor George Moscone and Milk were assassinated by Dan White, another city supervisor who had recently resigned and wanted his job back. In a controversial verdict that led to the coining of the legal slang “Twinkie Defense,” White was convicted of manslaughter rather than murder. The expression derives from the 1979 trial of Dan White, a former San Francisco, California (U.S.) Supervisor who assassinated Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk, on November 27, 1978.
