How did Gosalyn meet Darkwing?
Well, it’s a long story that is told in the movie, “Darkly Dawns the Duck”. Basically, Taurus Bulba stole the Waddlemeyer Ramrod from Professor Waddlemeyer, but the inventor was killed before Bulba could get the access code. Gosalyn was Waddlemeyer’s only living relative, so Bulba tried to have her kidnapped from the orphanage she was at. Darkwing reached her first, and tried to protect her from Bulba until he could stop the crime lord’s plans. During their time together, Gosalyn took a shining to Darkwing, and Darkwing found someone he could truly open up to and appreciate in Gosalyn. After Bulba was defeated, Darkwing adopted Gosalyn, and he and Launchpad (Darkwing’s new sidekick) and Gos found a house and set up a suburban life. All of this takes a few days; the rest of the series apparently picks up right where the movie leaves off (except that it skips the transition into suburbia), so Darkwing and Gosalyn appear to still be getting used to each other in some episodes.
