How did God create everything in seven days?
When you create absolutely everything, you get to call the shots. The first words in the Bible are “In the beginning”. These could easily be substituted for “at the beginning of time”, which suggests that when God created the Universe, he also created an element of time. Time is a completely human concept, based entirely on things as we know them. If we are going to look at things in that way, if you were making up a planet full of lush life forms, you’d probably want it to stay still till you’d finished. A day doesn’t necessarily mean twenty four hours. It is the time it takes for the Earth to revolve once. How fast was the Earth revolving at the time? It’s a human concept. “Forever” means outside this dimension, where we have a beginning and an end. Outside this dimension, there is no end. Everything in this dimension is “already written”.
