EVERGREEN STATE 1, GEORGE FOX 0: Geoducks Shut Down Bruins’ Potent Offense Box Score OLYMPIA, Wash. – After scoring 14 goals in their first three games, all victories, the high-powered George Fox University offense finally ran up against a stone wall as the Bruins dropped a 1-0 decision to the Evergreen State College Geoducks in a non-conference women’s soccer match Sunday afternoon here at Geoduck Field. The Bruins were held to 12 shots by the Evergreen defense, and all seven of their shots on goal were stopped by Geoduck keeper Sonya Daisley-Harr. George Fox goalie Becka Doyle was almost as effective, stopping seven of the Geoducks’ eight shots on goal (Evergreen took 11 shots in all). The one goal that did get through came at the 42:25 mark of the first half. Brianna Speed sent a cross from the right to the center of the penalty box, where Emma Loftis gathered it in and sent it to the back of the net for her second score of the season.
