Chanel lived from 1883 to January 10 1971. This site says that she died of natural causes in the second last paragraph. http://www.richeast.org/htwm/CHANEL/CC.H… Given that she was 88 years old it would be reasonable to accept natural causes as a cause of death. This would include failure of the vital organs like the heart, lungs kidneys etc. She would most likely have expired in her sleep. Nothing dramatic. We can live happy in the knowledge that Coco Chanel died a peaceful death of old age by the sound of it. Cheers!!!
