How did Early Human history in North America differ from the events of Asia, Eurasia, and Europe?

First of all, the Old World has been populated by human beings for much longer than the New World has. People first came to the New World something like 12,000 years ago. People had been in the Old World much longer than that. Second, there were no large civilizations in North America by 1450 where there were many large and even ancient civilizations in the Old World by that time. Because of this second difference, the Old World was able to completely dominate the New when the two came in contact.
