How did Douglass arrive at the amount per child?
The comparison study of other area schools pointed out that $180.00 per child is a “middle of the road” request for the schools that use a direct appeal campaign. Some families can give more, others cannot give at all. We know that our budget of $72,000 to cover all our children at Douglass Elementary, breaks down to less than $1.00 per day your child goes to school.
