How did disease allow the Europeans to conquer the native populations in the America and the Africa cape?
Its called separate spheres. The Americas and Europe were completely separated from each other until 1492. The Europeans introdeuced the Native Americans to diseases they had never seen before and their immune systems could not cope. The Spanish had the Native Americans working in the mines generally. The mines were dangerou because they could collapse at any moment and everyone was within close quarters (so disease travelded fast). The Portuguese brought chickens, cattle, horses, pigs, goats…… that had fleas and diseases that were spread. The Portuguese also chained Natives together to keep them from running way. Initially, they were used to cut down brazilwood to be used for dyes and eventually sugar. The English and Spanish in North America gave smallpox infested blankets to the NAtive Americans who refused to work.
