How did CSUSM respond to the recommendations made by the initial WASC Visiting Team?
There were fourteen significant recommendations made by the Visiting Team in their report. Over the years, progress has been made in regards to most of those recommendations. Each of the recommendations and CSUSM s response to them are noted here. 1. Monitor carefully the continued implementation of diversity. The Visiting Team noted that in 1993 CSUSM s student body did not reflect the diversity of the region. Chapter 4 of the self-study describes the progress CSUSM has made in enrolling a student body more reflective of the region s diversity. 2. Create a coordinated process for institutional planning. Strategic Planning II (see Chapter 7) achieved a measure of planning coordination among campus units. However, Chapter 7 also outlines in detail the limited progress CSUSM has made in this area. 3.
