How Did Cross-Class Alliances Shape the 1910 Chicago Garment Workers Strike?
Abstract This project documents the activism of women strikers as they allied with the Chicago reform community during the 1910 Chicago Garment Workers’ Strike. The project highlights the conditions of working-class immigrant women in progressive era Chicago, gendered and ethnic relationships among strikers, and the cooperative alliance forged between working women and Chicago allies particularly Hull House residents and Women’s Trade Union League members.
