How did costa rica gain independence?
Im not a history expert but from what i remember of history classes is that Costa Rica became independent the same day that Guatemala got independent. Back then the Governor of Costa Rica was Guatemala because the central american countries were one union and Guatemala was sort of the capital of central america so on Sep 15 when Guatemala had declared independence from spain costa rica did not get the message till a few weeks later because the messengers were on horses and it took a while to get message from Guate to CR that central america got free from spain. So the date celebrated is the 15th i forgot the year but the actual date that they found out was another one. Then later on years later CR became a independent country (not part of guatemala).
