How Did Copernicus Die?
Mr.Nicholas Copernicus was imprisoned for his theory of heliocentric system (sun in the middle of solar system). At that time people believed on geocentric system (earth in the middle of solar system). The king gave him death sentence. But, he didn’t disclose it to him. He ordered his slaves to put a very, very small amount of arsenic to each page of an old Bible. He personally gave the book to Mr.Copernicus. As the pages couldn’t be flipped easily, Mr.Copernicus had to lick his index finger and flip every page. He used to read two pages of the book daily. Slowly, the highly poisonous arsenic started entering his body through mouth. His body got slowly, but fully poisoned. He went into a devastating coma. He was shifted to a hospital. As the doctors came to know that he has a very short time to live, they placed, in honor, his very first edition of his book on his works. some days later, he woke up from his coma, saw the book, and died peacefully. he was 70 at that time. the doctors we
