How did Christianity Influence the Ancient Romans from practising cremation to burial?

0

Early Christianity, like modern Catholicism, absolutely forbid cremation. The body had to be buried in sacred ground, to ensure the chance of ressurection. Certain people could not be buried in a Christian graveyard, such as infidels or heretics, cannot be buried in a Christian graveyard; lest the graveyard be desecrated by their presence. (However, it is allowed to bury Protestants in a Catholic graveyard.) Any moves away from burial to cremation today are influenced not by any change in religious doctrine, but by material motives—In other words, people choose to cremate in defiance of Christian doctrine, just because it’s less expensive.
