How did christianity gain exceptions in rome?
In the 4th century the Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of Rome. It was under this protection that Christianity was allowed to come out of hiding and flourish. The blood of the millions of Martyrs had paid to keep Christianity alive to this point. Though a less than righteous man he was proof that God moves in mysterious ways. Some historians think he was influenced by his wife who had converted.
