How did chinas geography help unify it?
Contrary to your question, the geography did NOT help China unify. In fact, if anything, it had the opposite effect. China is a huge country with very diverse geographic attributes, and extremely diverse weather and climate. In Chinese, there is a saying ‘Mountains high. Emperor Far away’, which basically means the further away you are from the capital, the less likely the laws will protect you. That is the reason why China had so many warlords and uprisings and rebellions in the old days. Managing the vast country was no easy task, especially when you consider the diversity of its cultures, customs and languages. It is in fact an amazing achievement that the country could stay united for so much of its long history.
