In December 2006 ChinaCast Education Corporation, (formerly known as Great Wall Acquisition Corporation, and OTC listed stock), successfully acquired ChinaCast Communication Holdings (CCH). As of late July 2007, ChinaCast had acquired all of CCH and de-listed from the Singapore Stock Exchange on 10 August. The company formally requested to list on the Nasdaq Stock Market, late July 2007 and commenced trading on Nasdaq on 29 October 2007.
