How did Charles Manson start his family?
Charles Manson started his family by befriending the younger generation in the counterculture. He believed himself to be a great philosopher and prophet. His philosophy included some of the Scientology teachings he learned when he was in prison previously. He began to gain followers, mostly female. He then started traveling with the beginnings of his family to gain additional recruits. Manson originally went to jail at 13.
