How did britain prepare for ww2?
While all of the above is quite true it might be said Britain was unprepared for WW2 in a very big way. There had been much disarmament, there had been a shortage of money to develop modern technology. There was a hope that appeasement would actually prevent war. There was even hope that when Herr Hitler said he had no more territorial ambitions in Europe he was as good as his word. In diplomatic terms of ‘speaking softly & carry a big stick’ Britain had forgotten all about the big stick…..
