How did Archimedes die?
Yes, he died during a war, but the interesting part is the legend about his last words: He died during the roman attack on the city of Syracuse, Sicily, during the second Punic War. He was drawing geometrical figures in the sand when a Roman soldier came by. Archimedes said: “Noli turbare circulos meos!” (Don’t mess up my circles!) The soldier was not amused and killed him.
