How Did Ancient Greek Government Develop?

0

Greece still uses the same system of government that was used by the Ancient Greek. The Ancient Greek used Democracy and still, after thousands of years, the same system is used where people have the right of voting and this is used as a voice by the people for choosing their own leaders and balancing the government. Before it was introduced, the Greek were ruled by tyrants who were rich and powerful people. The Democratic system was introduced in Athens for the first time in 505 BC. There was direct democracy in which elections and votes were discussed by the people openly. This system did not give people positions based on their power and social standing. The Athenian Constitution which was written by Aristotle was also introduced according to the Democratic system. With the passage of years, the government developed and minor changes took place and the democracy at that time evolved into the democracy of today. You can find more on this Evolution.
