How did Amelia Earhart help others?
Apart from a stint as a Nurse”s aid at a Veteran”s Hospital in World War I, Amelia Earhart, while zealously promoting women in aviation- and the ninety-nines ( organization of Women Pilots , still active) was not the Jane Adaams or related charity type. Ruth Nichols, to her credit, was involved in the charitable organizaiton called Relief Wings, involved in mercy flights, flood relief, etc. I do not say she was not charitable, but Amelia was not a ( Poster Girl) for big-league charities, Miss Nichols was and did some promotion stunts for the Salvation Army by the way. Ruth Nichols was of the Quaker persuasion.
