How did AIDS emerge in the United States?
AIDS has been traced to 1959. It was first reported in 1981 in the United States. Scientists named the malady AIDS in 1982 and then linked to the virus in 1983. In 1986, the virus was named HIV by all world-wide health organizations. HIV/AIDS was first detected in homosexual and bisexual men followed by IV drug abusers and Haitian immigrants to the United States. AIDS cases have been reported in all 50 states. In 1994, AIDS deaths equal the number killed in WWII. There were also 600,000 reported cases of people infected with HIV. That does not include those that were not reported. It doesn’t matter where you live, who you are, whether you are rich or poor AIDS attacks anyone. The primary risk behaviors were homosexual men, drug-users,and heterosexuals. The number of cases in heterosexuals is increasing more than any other category because of carelessness. Heterosexuals think it can’t happen to me, I’m not at risk! Yes it can and will!!!! Always be careful and never say never. What are
