How did After the Wine decide upon the age of 45 as the minimum age allowed for membership?
We did an in-depth search of singles groups in the area and found most of their activities were geared toward the 20-something to 30-something crowds with only an occasional event offered to “Baby Boomers”. After reading the fine print we also found that the suggested cut off age for both singles groups and dating services was generally 45. We found that offensive. We knew of many singles over 45 who were vibrant and looking for something where they weren’t made to feel out of place socializing with those much younger than themselves. We decided that we would fill this almost ignored niche and wrap it around a subject many in this age group happen to enjoy…….Wine!
