HOW DID A MASS SHOOTING HAPPEN IN THE UNITARIAN CHURCH?
It’s interesting that I would run across this question tonight. I got up because I couldn’t sleep from worrying about this very thing. My sister was murdered in that mass shooting. The Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship was putting on a children’s play in which children from the Farragut Unitarian group were also participating. My sister and her friends were there to see a child in that play. The pew Linda was sitting in was right in the doorway, so when Adkisson walked in and opened fire, she was right in the line of fire. She had just traded seats with a friend so that she could take a picture of her friend’s granddaughter. The child was on the stage and looking right at Linda when she was shot in the head. A child Linda was helping to raise was sitting right beside her and was covered in her blood. Adkisson was standing right by the door of the cry room and the children could see what was happening until the mothers threw them to the ground and moved them out of sigh
