How did a goat curse the Cubs?
A funny story really. Da Curse of the Billy Goat all began as a ticketing dispute way back on October 6th, 1945 when a man named William “Billy Goat” Sianis brought his pet goat “Murphy” to a Cubs World Series game claiming that he had two tickets and there was no rule saying he could not use the 2nd of his $7.20 box seat tickets to allow Murphy a seat to enjoy the game with him. Apparently there was a short argument about the ticketing and the goat but at first Billy Goat Sianis, a local tavern owner, and his sidekick Murphy the Goat were allowed to take their seats in the Wrigely Field stands to watch the Cubs play in the World Series….. however later in the game and due to the goats objectionable odor Cubs owner at the time Philip Knight Wrigley kicked Murphy and Sianis out of the seats and the game.
