How did a Foundation based in Midlothian, Virginia, obtain an interest in college education for Montana Native Americans?
Frank McCormick, the Foundation Director, sponsored a child in the early 1990’s through the Christian Childrens’ Fund. Instead of sponsoring a child in another country, Frank chose to sponsor a Native American child on the Fort Belknap Reservation in Harlem, Montana. Several visits to Montana, many friendships, and two high school graduations later, Jonel was founded to provide critical financial college support for those students who otherwise would have no opportunity to attend college. 2.
