HOW DESIRABLE ARE RAIN WATER CISTERNS AS WATER SOURCES?
In many areas of the United States, rainwater collection can provide large quantities of relatively clean water. This water has not been affected by sewage treatment or industrial processes, has not washed through city streets, has not been polluted with the run-off from septic tanks or barnyards, and has not been contaminated with pesticides or fertilizer from field run-off.
