How demanding is basic training for the national guard?

I went to Infantry School, which is BCT and AIT integrated, and entirely Infantry Recruits. For physical training, we generally woke up at 0400, and were on the PT field doing calisthenics by 0415, for about 45 minutes (7-8 minute mile pace). Then, a good run for about 45 minutes. If you’re in B/2-54 IN, the PT track was sand when I was there. Most of our training was done in full combat load, about 110 lbs each. Includes uniform (it’s long sleeves, long pants, boots), helmet, body armor, weapon, and rucksack. After you qualify on the rifle, they’ll assign automatic riflemen (M249) and machinegunners (M240B), and the load will increase by 30-50 lbs. Under full combat load, we did 2-mile, 4-mile, 6-mile, 8-mile, 10-mile, 12-mile, and 15-mile marches. Interspersed were also a couple 3-mile marches. In the later half, we did Battle March & Shoot. Basically, in full combat load, you run about 3 miles, pick up some more crap, run another mile or so to the range, then you have to shoot targe
