How deep is the River Hudson where the plane went in?
The River Hudson’s depth at the point in question is actually between 30 and 50 feet deep. The river bottom is very muddy and murky and no actual measurement was taken due both to this and the fact that it was not an important factor relative to getting all the passengers away safely. Due to the river currents the bottom is not conveniently cut out to present a flat image. It is very rutted and dips irregularly; because the plane has a lengthy fuselage and broad wingspan a definitive depth of the water becomes difficult because there is not a sole point of measurement.
