How Deep Is The Nile?
Nile, considered as the longest river in the world is 6000 feet deep. It travels about 4000 km in a northwardly direction from the mountains of East Africa to empty into Mediterranean Sea. It is 6,695 km long and the span of its basin is 1,293,049 sq km. Three rivers which join together in the south to form The Nile are The White Nile, The Blue Nile and Arbara. The deepest point in The Nile is found in the Blue Nile which is about 6000 feet deep which is equivalent to the Grand Canyon in USA. Throughout Egypt, the Nile has worn a deep, wide gorge in the plateau region. Nile is deeper and has a much smoother surface at Aswan, North of the first cataract.
