You can dive as deep as you like. Whether you will survive is another question! At partial pressures greater than 1.44bar oxygen becomes toxic. This gives you a depth limit of about 60m. Going below this may not affect you, it may also kill you. At anything greater than 30m (less for some people) you become ‘narced’ this affects your judgement and can result in accidents. PADI reccommend a limit of 30m for recreational diving and 40m as an absolute max. BSAC reccommend a max of 50m for properly trained and equipped divers. But just because your agency says that a diver of your grade can dive to those depths does not mean it is safe for you to be there.
