How “cutting edge” is Westerns graduate program in English?
We were among the first universities in the nation to hire a specialist in contemporary theory. We were also among the first to cross-list English classes with women’s studies courses. The classes on women’s fiction and women’s poetry were among the first in the nation to center on women writers, many of whom were non-canonical at the time.
