The “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007 was one of the most egregious assaults on the freedom and liberty of Americans that had ever been presented to Congress. (Notwithstanding the Patriot (Sic) Act.) It took hard work, and as people began to grasp the impact of this bill we can now state that overall, it was one of those rare times that public outrage and calls to our Congress were actually successful. Both of these bills were under a press blackout which made our fight even tougher than it should have been; after passing the House with only six “nay” votes, the bill was “”Fast-Tracked” for what those in Congress thought was a sure win. But on this issue, people understood that the very essence of freedom and liberty were being challenged and we arose to the challenge.
