The United States of America would not have succeeded had it not been for slavery. The tobacco and cotton industries were the driving force that led to the success of the country financially and socially. Yes, slavery is wrong. Enforced labor is wrong. Today’s world would not tolerate such inhumanity but history is not set in today’s world. What was acceptable then is not necessarily acceptable now but it was the ways of the times and that slave labor led to some of the greatest things the world has ever seen. To say that the pyramids should not be considered one of the wonders of the world is to undermine the importance of that time period and that culture. What they did is not acceptable by the majority of people living today but it was acceptable then. That’s why it’s history. The Wonders of the World are things that we today can not fully understand, that make us wonder about our past. We don’t know for sure how they were built but however they were built they still make us wonder

Historians have found evidence of other protests (rebellions) against the Egyptians other than Moses, which is only mentioned in the Bible. The Bible while an important religious book to three of the World’s great religions is not a scholarly work on which to base historical events. Research also indicates that the Pyramids and many of the other great monuments used labour from the farmers in the off season. These were not slaves. Rather is was a form of sweat equity to pay their taxes. The workers were assembled in gangs with names which they wrote on some of the blocks.
